Antony tires to kill himself and in the process manages to injure himself badly; at this moment Antony learns that Cleopatra is alive. Antony gets hoisted up to the monument, where Cleopatra has locked herself and in the arms of Cleopatra Antony breathes his last.



Cleopatra refuses Octavius' proposal to surrender. Cleopatra gets the information from one of her envoys that Caesar plans to parade Cleopatra through Rome. Cleopatra kills herself with the poison of the asp. Cleopatra's men fulfill the wish of Cleopatra, which is to bury her beside Antony. The death of Antony and Cleopatra makes the way for Octavius to become the first Roman emperor.
